Whoever wrote that quote in your post, you should steer clear of them because they obviously have no clue wtf they're taking about. Red candlesticks just means that it closed lower than it started in that particular time-frame that you have the sticks indicating. Someone shorting a stock doesn't sell more to cover their position, that's just stupid logic. It's called buying to cover. Make sure you click buy to cover instead of just buy otherwise you'll be short and long at the same time.
Look into options trading instead of shorting to start out. I suggest something in the mini department like the Nasdaq mini (E-mini)
What I suggest most is getting out of stocks and doing a lot of reading before you lose all your money.
Because I do care I'll suggest you sell everything penny you got and go to the bigger exchanges before you lose it all. This will be deleted b.c of my last sentence, but I don't want you or anyone losing their money all because they don't know what they're doing.
