Either, both or other. It could be to cover short shares, load up, or keep the price as low as possible so that they can wait to buy at the exact moment the mini is announced. It could be several other reasons as well.
The specific reason is beside the point. What is important is his/her desire to "manipulate" the price south via slander and intentionally spreading false information. It is against the law according to the SEC.
