Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, Inc. (AJRD) delivered growth in net sales and improved operating metrics in its quarterly financial results.
For its second quarter fiscal 2015, AJRD posted net sales of $456.9 million (included $42.0 million related to the sale of 550 acres of land of its Easton property), a 12.95% increase year over year, and net income of $18.4 million (included an after-tax gain of $17.9 million related to the land sale), or $0.26 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $(50.9) million, or $(0.88) per share in the same period the prior year
AJRD said that it is making progress on the implementation of its Competitive Improvement Program that is designed to enhance the company's technological and competitive leadership in its markets
AJRD provides innovative solutions to its customers in the aerospace and defense, energy and real estate markets. Its businesses include Aerojet Rocketdyne and Easton Real Estate at facilities across the United States and in Europe.

On Friday, billionaire Steve Cohen's Point72 Asset Management, L.P. disclosed in a new filing ( SC 13D/A ) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it has increased to 4,943,953 the number of shares of Olin Corp. (OLN) (6.4% stake) in its investment portfolio from the 4,060,154 shares reported on July 02, 2015
OLN recently said that it has received all the foreign regulatory approvals required to close its pending merger of The Dow Chemical Company's chlorine value chain with OLN. The transaction, expected to close by the end of the year, is still subject to OLN shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions.
OLN is a manufacturer concentrated in three business segments: Chlor Alkali Products, Chemical Distribution and Winchester.
