Even though John Bordynuik got rich by defrauding investors, maybe he was sincere about wanting to save the environment.
After all, he treated himself to a Hummer with some of the money shareholders donated to his personal bank account. That 8500 pounds of metal gets at least 8-10 miles to the gallon.
Clearly a choice that any environmentally conscious consumer with the financial means would make.
