DSUS subsidiary IR Distro has teamed up with Segway owner Ninebot, Inc.
On July 3, 2015 Drone Services USA, Inc. subsidiary IR Distro confirmed an agreement between IRD & Ninebot, Inc., the first smart short transportation equipment operator in China. In recent news Ninebot, Inc., announced its purchase of rival, Segway, Inc.
“In addition to being an official reseller for Ninebot, Inc., we will be integrating the IR Distro camera on the mobility device viewed through head worn goggles or a fixed display. The Ninebot weighs under 55lbs with an easily removable handle for easy stow in a vehicle. The unit moves at speeds up to 12 miles per hour with a distance up to 25 miles with the optional 670wh battery. The uses for these units will cater to such applications as parking lot & airport security, search and rescue, law enforcement and drone following to name a few. This is a very exciting move for us as we expect the worldwide demand for these units integrated with our cameras will be very high and ever increasing.” Says Joel Bredow, CEO of Drone Services USA, Inc. & owner of IR Distro, Inc.
The Ninebot unit can also operate via Bluetooth utilizing the Ninedroid app. This application can be especially useful for SWAT missions or other life-threatening missions; looking around dangerous corners just got a whole lot safer!
A game changer in this application however is for legal 333 exemption holders to have the ability to remain within the legal "line of sight" of their drone. This application literally increases the usable distance and greatly increases safety by keeping the operator close to the drone. Now you can easily identify possible hazards with the ease of mobility instead of squinting into the horizon to see your craft.
