The Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Park is a 58 acre site that hosts STAR One,Texas State’s first building dedicated to the university’s research and commercialization efforts. Construction on STAR One started in October 2011 and was completed in October 2012. This 20,000 square foot facility serves as a technology accelerator for start-up and early-stage businesses, and will provide tenants access to secure wet labs, clean space, conference room and office space.
Phase I- additional buildout at STAR One- begins November 14, 2014. An additional 6,000 square feet will be completed by June 2015, housing 3 new Life Science lab suites and 3 new MaterialsScience/Chemistry lab suites.
Phase II Expansion Project will round out STAR One with a 4,000 sq. ft flexible collaboration space, a 1,800 sq. ft. flexible meeting space, 2 Materials Science/Chemistry lab suites, 2 Life Science Lab suites, and a 3,000 sq.ft Maker Space. Construction begins February 2015 with occupancy expected for February 2016.
