I am a certified Cardiovascular Engineer/Biomedical Engineer. Heat is one of our most frequent causes of mortality in Digital Flat panel detectors. Essentially a quantum leap for reducing the radiation dose to Professional staff and patients while undergoing Radiology procedures. Most applications in Cardiology (Heart Catheter) procedures an external chiller pumps liquid coolant through cooling plates to mitigate heat failures...I am ecstatic with the increased heat capability of Q Dots. FYI the cost to replace a Digital Flat Panel Detector in Cardiology for me is $105,000.00 each.
