First: Diesel engines have been around since the 1900’s and, until the 1990’s, diesel fuel was cheap.
Second: The basic radial engine is a mature technology. No one was able to get a radial engine to run on natural gas or propane.
Third: Aviation fuel was expensive.
PDI took existing technology and modified it to develop a solid state, self-contained genset that runs efficiently on natural gas, propane, methane, ethane and hydrogen.
If its primary gaseous fuel becomes unavailable, the PDIGenset can be modified to continue to operate reliably on an emergency back-up fuel.
