All electrical generation equipment consists of three basic components: a prime mover (or engine) , a generator and electrical control switchgear.
Prime Mover
The generator used in the PDIGenset is based upon your needs. All switchgear is custom made for each of our units to make the power dovetail with your existing powergrid or specific requirements.
To meet the demand for a reliable and powerful prime mover, we use a highly modified radial air-cooled direct drive motor that will run on almost any gaseous fuel.
New internal mechanical components, fuel delivery system and a highly advanced electrical component package has been designed, and integrated to create an efficient and powerful engine that has a minimum 20,000 hour performance envelope on gaseous fuels.
Units are equipped with internal "black box technology" that continuously reports streaming data to a central control PDI Genset that provides a security and performance monitoring threshold whether the PDIGenset is operating or idle.
$PWDY | Generator
PDI maintains a strategic relationship with several generator manufacturers that provide a variety of different types of generator units. As each user has unique power requirements, PDI will determine from an engineering survey the correct manufacturer to meet the specifications.
Each unit is custom manufactured for a specific performance, in a specific location. Delivery time for most PDIGenset units to any location can be as short as 90 days from initial order to full operation on site.
The basic unit produces 1MW of power 24/7 and has an expected operational life of 20,000 hours before rebuild or replacement of the prime mover. Units can be ganged to produce up to 10MW for each power source block. One unit can be fitted comfortably inside a standard 8' x 8' x 40' shipping container box which then houses the unit on site.
Its compact size allows for easy handling, transport and delivery anywhere in the world.
Our internet based monitoring system can be accessed any where in the world a tablet works. Each PDIGenset is watched 24/7. We know when a problem may be happening... before it happens.
As part of its maintenance agreement, PDI remotely monitors each genset and can immediately shut it down in case of emergency. Repair crews can be on scene promptly and a replacement PDIGenset in place and operating quickly (depending on location) for minimum down time to our customer.
If it's not reliable why would you want it?
PDI's middle name is "Reliable". We use the Pratt and Whitney R2800 radial engine as our prime mover. This is the same engine which powered WWII warbirds. It brought many an aircrew home alive when shot up, beat up and flown hard.
This is one reliable engine! -Unlike diesel gensets (which require weeks for expensive routine maintenance), the compact PDIGenset can be regularly serviced in hours.
