LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - June 24, 2015) - Today, the Games Organizing Committee for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015 (LA2015), and medical device innovator OxySure Systems, Inc. (OXYS) ("OxySure"
announced that OxySure has become a Champion Partner of the Special Olympics World Games, set to take place July 25-Aug. 2 in Los Angeles.
OxySure will provide support to the medical operations of the Games to help cover any possible medical emergency needs during the nine days of competition, involving 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches from 177 countries, plus an estimated 500,000 spectators. OxySure will also serve as the supplier of emergency oxygen, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), oxygen pulse oximeters and other medical emergency equipment and services.
In its role as a Champion of the World Games, OxySure will support World Games participants and attendees, providing AEDs, OxySure Model 615 units, OxySure Thermal Bags, and OxySure Pulse Oximeters to the 27 Venues, Fields of Play, Spectator First Aid tents and overnight nursing staff. Coverage will include sports venues, where medical care will be provided by medical teams consisting of sports medicine physicians, nurses, EMTs, athletic trainers, and so forth.

Two-time Olympian Cliff Meidl, OxySure's global spokesperson, will join Julian Ross in providing media interviews, inspirational presentations and taped video segments about the health & safety side of the World Games. Meidl has a special relationship with CPR, oxygen and AED units. His life was saved when he was just 20 years old and working on a construction site in Los Angeles. Firefighters quickly responded and found him in cardiac arrest. They administered CPR, oxygen and AED resuscitation and brought him back to life.
According to Meidl, "Becoming involved in this capacity is exciting and especially meaningful for me and for OxySure Systems. I have been involved with Special Olympics dating back to 2000 after my second Olympic Games in Sydney."
The World Games will feature 25 Olympic-style sports: Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Cycling, Equestrian, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Half Marathon, Handball, Judo, Kayaking, Open Water Swimming, Powerlifting, Roller Skating, Sailing, Softball, Table Tennis, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, and Beach Volleyball. Throughout the nine days of inspiring competition, the 2015 World Games will offer many festive, educational and engaging programs for athletes, guests, families and fans. Special Olympics Programs that will be offered during the World Games include: Awards Ceremonies, Festivals & Entertainment, Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® program, Law Enforcement Torch Run®Final Leg for Special Olympics, Motor Activity Training Program, Unified Sports Experiences and the Young Athletes Program. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the Special Olympics Movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle, in which officers and athletes run the Flame of Hope to the Opening Ceremony of local Special Olympics competitions as well as State, National and World Games.
