Contracts can be structured a variety of ways. What may be the status quo as far as 2k is concerned doesn't necessarily hold true for an emerging 4K market. Don't under underestimate 4K Studios and what that means to NTEK, leverage my friend. It's fricken' huge! Not all 4K is created equal. If you had films to be remastered in 4K who ya gonna call? Film Busters! whoops got carried away, I meant to say, 4K Studios!
Also, who's to say the additional 2 bucks per month that NFLX charges is in direct correlation to costs to provide? While NFLX is a cash producing cow, their costs are also tremendous and it's not all from film rights. In fact I'd argue a huge percentage of it is unrelated to film rights all together.
So with that said, when NTEK decides to upload their already remastered film library, a significant portion is being held up maybe still waiting on the Sony app, a sub model is without question a viable addition to what we have now.
As for a being a very competitive model, not so much in the 4K market at least not yet. Who's the real competition? I mean right now? As far as content is concerned, the answer is no one!
