Based on the PRs, this is a gem, a one in a thousand opportunity. We are all lucky enough to have the opportunity to get in during quiet mode. Soon we will be inundated with newbies wanting in and driving the price up. I can't wait for it to start.
As to your questions, I have either been a part of the founding team in 4 startups and one pre-IPO giant. Only the pre-IPO giant yielded great returns. One of the startups made me enough money to buy a nice house and the other three drained all my resources and lost me that house. Oh...the crap I put my family through and the patience my wife has shown through all of this has been amazing.
In the investment world, I have invested in over 50 pinkies and only a handful have made it to profitability before slipping into oblivion. This group looks like they have the right product at the right time and the right price/performance. They have patents in many areas and are embracing partnerships rather than trying to do everything themselves. That is the sign of a company ready and able to grow with the market demand. Oh, and did I mention that the market demand is hot and growing? A very good combination to have.
