Changes in the management of DSB Øresund A/S

Copenhagen, 2015-06-17 13:00 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSB will be taking over the operation of the Coastal Line and the Kastrup Line from DSB Øresund A/S as from year-end 2015. Therefore, a number of organisational changes in DSB Øresund A/S have been accelerated with a view to strengthening the work with the safety management system and make the transfer of the lines from DSB Øresund A/S to DSB more flexible.

This means that Dan Stig Jensen will be retiring from the position as CEO and take up other duties in DSB Øresund. The position as CEO of DSB Øresund A/S will instead be filled by Anders Egehus, who is the current Executive Vice President of Operations in DSB.

The change in management also means that Anders Egehus will retire as Chairman of the Board of Directors of DSB Øresund A/S – and that Thomas Thellersen Børner, CFO of DSB, will assume office as Chairman.

The changes in the management of DSB Øresund A/S have been necessary because the Danish Transport Authority was unable to renew DSB Øresund A/S’ safety certificate on 8 June as planned. While the Danish Transport Authority believes that the safety of operations and of passengers in DSB Øresund A/S is at an acceptable level – otherwise the trains would, of course, not be running – DSB Øresund A/S still has some way to go to fulfil the requirements for a safety management system as stipulated in the “Executive Order on a Safety Certificate for Railway Undertakings”. These changes in management will ensure the existence of the requisite management focus on this work and will take effect as of today.
