$EPGL and CooperVision $COO Resume Negotiations One day prior to a deadline set by EPGL (June 17, 2015), talks about royalties and compensation will resume. EPGL and CooperVision hold together what has potential to be key enabling technologies in the new field of bionic vision or augmented vision via electronics embedded into modern contact lenses or potentially within implantable ophthalmic devices. Important upcoming patent filing dates (the first being July 8, 2015) are a catalyst and incentive for successful negotiations to be reached soon.
Answering a shareholder's question: Yes, several joint patents filed thus far, either by CooperVision or EPGL have been filed non-public.
EPGL Investors: In this important period of EPGL negotiations with multiple large companies, listen to people on public forums at your own risk. Nobody but EPGL and the companies it has Agreements with, know all the facts. Listening to "timelines" projected by anonymous people can lead to uncertain results. EPGL will continue to make official updates based on facts. Everything else is pure speculation.
Here's some facts from the Company, not anonymous speculation: CooperVision and EP Global Communications, Inc. have been at work on leading-edge ophthalmic enabling technology since early 2013. Several jointly owned patents were filed in 2014. These patents represent certain key enabling technologies which could potentially necessitate other manufacturers to pay licensing fees to EPGL and CooperVision in the future if they wish to develop electronic contact lenses.
The electronic contact lens and vision augmentation business could potentially be in the tens of billions annually based on potential applications. Several of these patents are due for final non-provisional filings beginning as early as July 8, 2015 and carrying on into late 2015. Some of the resulting enabled technology applications could be commercialized relatively soon in the field with others taking more time. In any event, the vision revolution is coming and EPGL has developed jointly with CooperVision, potentially significant enabling technology. These are the facts.
Another fact is that the licensing and royalty deals for this technology will be happening this year, not years away.
You can decide whether now is the time to invest into EPGL or not based on facts. You have just been provided some facts directly from EPGL.
We are also currently working on joint patents with AT&T for additional cutting edge technology. More to come on this fact later.
We also continue to be under Agreement with other companies which we are discussing additional advanced technology development with. EPGL shareholders own a unique opportunity in management's opinion. Do we believe EPGL is undervalued? Based on what we have in the pipeline, yes indeed we do. More updates to come. Thank you to all our LONG dedicated shareholders.
