Himax's proprietary Front-Lit™ LCoS module marks a major technological breakthrough for the industry's development of microdisplay which is critical for the emerging head-mounted device market.
Himax's Front-Lit™ LCoS integrates two major components in a traditional optical engine into the microdisplay module itself. These are: 1) the LED illumination system, and 2) the polarization beam splitter (PBS).As a result, the optical engine is much reduced in size and can operate with much improved power efficiency.
