I disagree, adding relevant discussion to the board is good for that site's search engine ranking in the long run.
Their search spot if very important to them.
This feels like IHERP recruitment day on IHangout.
Thanks to whoever came up with the IHERP name. You should patent that, I'd buy and wear the t-shirt.
Pageviews per session coming from Google also help their ranking, so, if you don't like a website you can enter the site and leave without clicking on any other links. That is called a bounce and is bad for that site's ranking. It shows the site is not engaging.
If you like Hangout and spend a lot of time on the site per session you may want to enter through google even though it is a little less convenient for some.
