The Reason that the Stock goes back down, is for the exact reason you described...
Your taking profits.. (AKA SELLLING THE STOCK WHEN ITS HIGH)... this then lowers the PPS... then You buy More at the Lower PPS.....

What you Just Described, IS THE OPPOSITE of WHAT ALL LONGS WANT TO DO! Your talking about selling and then rebuying to catch the next run....
