I\'m long but I worry

I have only been investing for 7 months and have already lost a bunch of $. I seem to have a knack for picking stocks that raise questions (lost a bunch on ManKind). Just hanging in with 1/3rd of what I started with- and hoping that FITX is the real deal, will really split into 2 companies, etc.
The FITX yahoo board is a scary mess. A lot of mean spirited- semi-literate people spewing non-stop hate... SIGH
