HOUSTON, TX, Dec 04, 2012 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Global Clean Energy, Inc. (PINK SHEETS: GCEI) and Algae Farm (USA), Inc. (PINK SHEETS: ALGF) have formed a strategic alliance to bring feed-stocks to sustainable, scalable and profitable applications based on the work done by Algae Farm USA.
ALGF's Pilot prototype and Full-Scale model, with Proof of Concept Pilot to Scale Production Validation Report were completed in 2010. The Company's Algapond(TM) was completed in January 2012. Currently, the leading producers of Algal Biomass utilize outdoor systems of ponds each of which can be up to 1,000,000 gallons large, covering almost an entire acre. The most efficient of these outdoor systems are able to produce approximately 150,000 pounds of Algal Biomass per year (per acre). Although effective, these systems are not necessarily consistent or efficient as they rely heavily on water and temperature, which can be difficult to control given the unpredictability of weather. Algae Farm's indoor Algapond(TM) system enables production in excess of 10 times the Algal Biomass than outdoor systems using the same amount of space. The average outdoor pond used 1,000,000 gallons of water, while Algapond(TM) systems can achieve this with only 90,000 gallons. The Algapond(TM) system is versatile and will also allow for the extraction of the Algae Oil from the Algal Biomass resulting in both sell-able Algal Oil and Residual Biomass. The alliance has as the objective to produce commercial volumes of Jatropha, Algae and switch-grass. Furthermore both companies believe that through application of ALGF's tested system and refinements by GCEI, feedstock will be able to be grown profitably anywhere in the world where power, water and indoor or outdoor controls are available. With this alliance in place, GCEI is in position to begin commercialization of feed-stocks at locations which are being developed by the company.
