Global Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Cardiovascular Disease Markets Overview 2014
M2 - Thu Feb 05, 3:00AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/ltppcg/diabetes) has announced the addition of the "Global Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Cardiovascular Disease Markets Overview 2014" report to their offering. Proactive strategies for prevention of the disease are being put in place by international health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as by the health departments of industrialized and developing countries, and even at the local level where food ingredients regulations are being passed. There has been a dramatic increase in the incidence of diabetes worldwide, which has been exacerbated by the growing obesity problem across the globe. Once thought of as primarily a childhood disease--sometimes referred to as juvenile diabetes, now mostly Type 1 diabetes--the obesity crisis linked to the adoption of a high-fat, high-carbohydrate, high-calorie American diet has resulted in skyrocketing rates of diabetes among adults across the world. To compound the global diabetes epidemic, health professionals are witnessing an alarming increase in inflammatory diseases resulting from adult onset (i.e., Type 2) diabetes. This phenomenon is referred to as "metabolic syndrome" where a confluence of inflammatory conditions occur along with the diabetes. As a result, growing evidence appears to show that metabolic syndrome makes the diabetic patient susceptible to degenerative health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, stroke and, now believed, Alzheimer's disease. As the diabetes epidemic escalates, a new sense of urgency has taken hold. This publication report charts the changing landscape of the global diabetic population and explores the added health concerns resulting from the metabolic syndrome phenomenon and one of its major risk factors: cardiovascular disease (CVD). Furthermore, this study evaluates widely-accepted therapeutic approaches to diabetes that are currently in use, while providing an in-depth analysis of emerging technologies that will be used to treat diabetes and other inflammatory diseases in the future. Key Topics Covered: 1. Overview 2. Introduction 3. Understanding the Metabolic Conditions Underlying and Associated with Diabetes 4. Pharmaceutical Industry and the Anti-Diabetes Market 5. Non-Insulin Anti-Diabetes Products 6. Insulin 7. Emerging Anti-Diabetes Technologies and Products 8. Diagnosing Diabetes Using In Vitro Laboratory Tests 9. Global Prostate Cancer Vaccine Clinical Pipeline Insight 2015
M2 - Wed Jan 21, 5:40AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/qxt9lq/global_prostate) has announced the addition of the "Global Prostate Cancer Vaccine Clinical Pipeline Insight 2015" report to their offering. Prostate cancer vaccine is a recent development which is more potent than presently available prostate cancer therapeutics in providing better medical care. Prophylactic nature of this vaccine makes it possible to prevent the future incidences of prostate cancer. Besides, it can also prevent the relapse, provides long- term immunity, decrease morbidity and mortality rates along with increasing longevity. Owing to these benefits offered by prostate cancer vaccines their acceptance is increasing among patients and physicians in recent years. It is expected that due competition and increased number of products in market will cause decrease in the price of prostate cancer vaccines in coming years. Prostate cancer vaccine utilizes different antigens like Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen, Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) and Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (PAP) in pharmacological formulations. These antigens are isolated from the prostate tumor and injected into the body to activate the immune cells. They identify these antigens as non-self and begin to search and eliminate cancerous cells from body to prevent proliferation of cancerous cells. Highly specific nature causes elimination of cancerous cells in prostate while sparing normal cells leading to minimized side effects in patients.
