Baltia Air Lines, Inc. is a New York corporation with base of operations in Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport in New York . Baltia's goal is to become the leading U.S. airline in the Trans-Atlantic market between the major U.S. cities and capital cities of Eastern Europe , including Russia , Latvia , Ukra ine , and Belarus .
Baltia will provide high quality three-class passenger service, and reliable cargo and mail transportation. Baltia plans to begin scheduled air transportation as the only U.S. airline, connecting directly two of the world's most promine nt cities -- New York and St. Petersburg.

"Inaugural Flight Status"
A grand inaugural event is planned for Baltia's maiden flight consisting of a ceremony at JFK Airport including the christening of our aircraft, an exclusive maiden flight with 100 honor guests and 180 inaugural passengers, and a very special celebratory itinerary in St. Petersburg. The date of Baltia's maiden flight will soon be announced.
Baltia is a US startup airline. No ticket sales are currently available.

Summary: After 16 months of investigation Baltia Air Lines received Final Approval from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). Officially, Baltia is now 11 months into review for 14 CFR Part 121 Air Carrier Certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The pending Certification would give Baltia the green light to begin flight operations non-stop from New York To St. Petersburg, Russia.
Baltia Details Certification Progress
On December 19, 2008 - The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) issued its Order to Show Cause, finding that Baltia Air Lines is fit, willing and able to engage in international air transport of persons, property and mail. Baltia was awarded the non-stop route from JFK to St. Petersburg Russia. Baltia was also authorized for worldwide charter services. Baltia had filed its application with the DOT in October 2007.
On February 5, 2009 - Baltia Air Lines Begins FAA Certification.
On February 12, 2009 - Baltia increases office space at Terminal 4 to accommodate the additional staff working on the FAA Certification.
On March 7, 2009 - Following the regulatory public comment period and the Presidential Review, the DOT issued the Final Order, making its findings of the Show Cause Order final.
On March 20, 2009 - The DOT awarded Baltia Air Lines its initial frequencies for flights from JFK to St. Petersburg.
On March 25, 2009 - The United States Government formally notified the Government of the Russian Federation that Baltia Air Lines has been designated for service on the JFK to St. Petersburg route.
In July, 2009 - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) issued the two-letter Code.
In July, 2009 - The FAA arranged for arrival and departure times at JFK Airport.
On August 18, 2009 - The Pulkovo Airport Authority affirmed arrival and departure times in St. Petersburg.
On August 18, 2009 - The Company executed the Aircraft Purchase Agreement for the purchase of its first Boeing 747 aircraft.
On November 15, 2009 - The Company paid the remaining balance and it now owns the aircraft. The aircraft was purchased without engines. In conjunction with the purchase, the seller is leasing to the company engines on a power by the hour basis. Baltia will take delivery of the aircraft and will register the ownership title with the FAA in Oklahoma City.
On November 24, 2009 - Baltia takes delivery of Boeing 747-200 aircraft.
On December 7, 2009 - Baltia starts preparation of aircraft for interior upgrading and for maintenance.
In the 1st Quarter 2010 - Baltia leases station facilities at Pulkovo Airport, enters into a fuelling agreement with SOVEX.
In April of 2010 - Baltia received additional space at JFK, Terminal 4.
On June 4, 2010 - Baltia filed its application with the DOT for JFK-SVO service.
On August 2, 2010 - Baltia's B747 (N705BL) aircraft arrived at Malaysian Airlines maintenance facility for maintenance.
On December 9, 2010 - Baltia Purchased it's 2nd 747-200 aircraft, sn: 21705, and assigned it's tail # N706BL.
On March 15, 2011 - Baltia's aircraft N706BL entered into required maintenance at Kalitta MRO in Oscoda, MI.
08/03/2011 - N706BL flies to Victorville, CA to get Baltia Air Lines official paint scheme.
09/10/2011 - N706BL paint is finished and it flies back to Oscoda, MI
Baltia is currently conducting the FAA Air Carrier Certification process under Part 121.
