The price of the stock of Bsquare Corp. (BSQR) soared and hit a new 52-week high in the extended session Thursday after the company delivered strong financial performance in its quarterly earnings report, as a result of continued focus and execution on its core business.
For the first quarter 2015, BSQR posted revenue of $26.3 million, a 16% increase year over year, and net income of $1.8 million, or $0.15 per share, compared to a net loss of ($0.4) million, or ($0.03) per share in the same period the prior year.
BSQR expects for the second quarter 2015 total revenue in the range of $25 to $28 million and continued GAAP profitability.
BSQR is a leading enabler of smart, connected systems and an emerging provider of actionable data solutions for the Internet of Things.

After the closing bell on Thursday, Pro-Dex Inc. (PDEX) reported higher revenue and a narrower loss in its quarterly financial results
For its third quarter fiscal 2015, PDEX posted net sales of $3.9 million, a 63% increase year over year, and net loss of ($76,000), or ($0.02) per share, compared to a net loss of ($392,000), or ($0.12) per share in the same quarter the prior year
PDEX recently received a production order from its largest customer for additional products scheduled to ship in fiscal 2016 in the amount of approximately $0.5 million and the company executed a development agreement with another customer to design and develop a powered surgical device valued at approximately $0.5 million
PDEX specializes in the design, development and manufacture of powered rotary drive surgical and dental instruments used primarily in the orthopedic, spine, maxocranial facial and dental markets.

Shares of Avon Products Inc. (AVP) were halted 3 times for extreme volatility during Thursday's trading session, following a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) made by an entity purporting to be named "PTG Capital Partners LTD" (which apparently doesn't exist).
According to the SEC filing ( http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/8868/0...vptoc1.txt ), PTG Capital Partners submitted an offer to AVP's board of directors to acquire the company for $18.75 per share.
AVP said in a statement that it has not received any offer or other communication from such an entity and has not been able to confirm that such an entity exists.
