Millions of Acres with lots of Velkerri Horizon "
Post# of 71
"The Mid-Velkerri A and B beds were encountered
in the Shenandoah No. 1A in the dry gas window and have good
desorption values (averaging 106 cubic feet/ton at a depth of
8,200 feet), with as much 425 feet of potential gas pay.
Along with these two rich source rocks are a series of six sand-
stone reservoirs in the oil and gas windows. Each has some evi-
dence of hydrocarbons, either in the form of free oil recoveries
with gravities as high as 38 degrees API or numerous gas shows.
Porosity and permeability of the shallower reservoirs is good in
the thick Jamison and Moroak sandstones, and tight gas reser-
voirs in the Moroak and Bessie Creek sandstones. Fracturing is
extensive in wells already drilled in the basin, none of which test-
ed a structural anomaly. In addition, fracturing is evident in for-
mation microimaging logs in intervals such as the upper Moroak
fluvial sandstone, and selected intervals in the shales"
