Apcera Fuels Continued Growth With Additions to Executive Team

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 29, 2015) - Apcera®, maker of the world's first operating system for the hybrid cloud, continues to grow adding three new vice presidents to its executive ranks. Paul Dul now serves as vice president of Product, Neeraj Gupta as vice president of Engineering, and Edgar Perez as vice president of Technical Field Operations.

Apcera has grown exponentially over the past six months, as enterprises adopt hybrid cloud strategies and our solution gains strong momentum in the market," said Derek Collison, Founder and CEO of Apcera. "The Apcera Hybrid Cloud Operating System (HCOS) allows enterprises to fill critical gaps in their hybrid cloud deployments. The addition of Paul, Neeraj and Edgar adds significant experience to our team, which is invaluable as we continue to be the driving force in trusted cloud innovation."

Dul brings more than 20 years of product management and leadership experience to Apcera. As vice president of Product, he will be responsible for defining Apcera's product vision and roadmap, and partnering with sales and marketing to drive execution in the market. Before joining Apcera, he was Vice President of Product at Embrane and led the product management team at Andiamo Systems -- from pre-market, through its acquisition by Cisco Systems, and on to more than $400 million in annual sales. Earlier in his career, Dul led product management for Cisco's $3 billion Catalyst 5000 product line and has held senior roles at Booz Allen Hamilton and United Technologies Corporation. Dul earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Engineering from the University of Connecticut and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, respectively. He also earned a Master's of Science degree in Management from MIT.

Gupta has two decades of experience in the software industry, building and scaling high-growth organizations and delivering world-class products. In his role at Apcera, Gupta will lead the company's Engineering organization and delivery of its HCOS. Most recently, he was senior vice president of Product and Engineering at Appcelerator, where he built and delivered the Appcelerator Platform, an enterprise mobile and cloud engagement platform. Prior to Appcelerator, Gupta spent more than a decade at Oracle as a senior software executive, where he played a key role in driving product strategy of the company's data access product line. There he introduced Oracle's first web-tier product on .NET platform to compete aggressively with the Microsoft Windows platform and forged strategic engineering relationships with partners and key customers including Bank of America and Dell. He also held various leadership and technical roles at Informix and start-ups. Neeraj earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from I.E.T. India and a Master of Business Administration from Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley.

Perez is an accomplished executive with more than 20 years of technology solutions experience. Perez serves as Apcera's vice president of Technical Field Operations, leading a team of solutions professionals who will ensure that prospective customers are aware of the full, technical capabilities of Apcera's solutions. Most recently, he was vice president of Worldwide Technical Services for Atlantis Computing. He also spent several years as Senior Director of Global Services for EMC's Data Protection and Availability Division, where he was responsible for operations of the pre-sales, delivery, support and services businesses. Prior to EMC, Perez led the Americas Systems Engineering team for Data Domain, working in the company's most successful sales division, which contributed to a more than $2 billion acquisition by EMC. Additionally, Perez has held senior technical leadership roles at Symantec and Dell Computer. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
