The price of the stock of XPO Logistics, Inc. (XPO) soared to near record-high levels in after-hours trading Tuesday as the company said that it will acquire Norbert Dentressangle SA in a transaction valued at approximately $3.53 billion.
Norbert Dentressangle is a leading global provider of contract logistics, including e-commerce fulfillment; freight brokerage and transportation; and global forwarding services. It had pro-forma 2014 revenue of $5.5 billion.
According to XPO, the deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2015 and the acquisition will more than triple its EBITDA run rate to approximately $545 million, and increase its revenue to approximately $8.5 billion, nearly achieving the company's 2017 targets two years ahead of plan.
XPO is one of the fastest growing providers of transportation logistics services in North America.

After the closing bell on Tuesday, GoPro, Inc. (GPRO) reported strong growth in its quarterly financial results with numbers above analysts' expectations.
For the first quarter 2015, GPRO posted revenue of $363.1 million, a 54.0% increase year over year, and non-GAAP net income of $35.6 million or $0.24 per diluted share, compared to non-GAAP net income of $14.3 million or $0.10 per diluted share in the same quarter the prior year, exceeding the Capital IQ Consensus Estimate of $0.18 earnings per share on revenues of $341.69 million for the period.
