PLAINVIEW, NY --(Marketwired - April 29, 2015) - NeuLion, Inc. (
FAN PASS is an Over-The-Top (OTT) and TV Everywhere (TVE) service that provides on-demand, live and interactive coverage of Super Rugby, Rugby League and Formula 1 on the web and on mobile devices for consumers that don't subscribe to SKY New Zealand's SKY SPORT TV channels.
"We've seen what NeuLion has done for the NBA, NFL and NHL and we're excited that New Zealand's rugby and Formula 1 fans can now be thrilled by the live and on-demand interactive offerings of our FAN PASS service," says Cuan Gray, FAN PASS general manager at SKY New Zealand. "We believe that the NeuLion® Digital Platform and NeuLion designed apps will play an important role in ensuring the success of FAN PASS, an exciting addition to our content offering."
This new digital service is available in New Zealand through weekly, monthly or season subscription passes on a sport-by-sport basis. FAN PASS includes high-quality live and on-demand action with replays, highlights and the option for viewers joining a game after kick-off to watch live or from the beginning of the event.
"FAN PASS is a valuable addition to the broadcaster's offering making it easy for SKY New Zealand to obtain new customers and monetize new sports rights," said NeuLion CEO Kanaan Jemili, Ph.D. "As the global leader in taking sports and entertainment over-the-top, NeuLion is excited to power SKY New Zealand's FAN PASS service, particularly as certain sports are so culturally relevant in New Zealand."
FAN PASS is powered by the NeuLion Digital Platform , an end-to-end platform providing licensed components from content ingestion, encoding and management to content security and monitoring that streamline the content delivery process. The platform facilitates the streaming and sharing of high-quality content up to 4K, including premium sports and entertainment content.
FAN PASS will be showcased at NeuLion's Stand 111 during TV Connect (28-30 April) at ExCel, London. To schedule a briefing, please contact Segolene Roche at segolene@platformpr.com .
