Good Fellas Remastered in 4k Three studios support UV, and a fourth studio announced support: Warner Bros., Sony, Universal, and Paramount. UV has been launched in the UK as well. Samsung and Panasonic have also begun talking about bringing UV to TV screens.
How does UltraViolet work? The Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE), the name of the consortium that developed UltraViolet, doesn't lock UltraViolet to the individual purchaser of a movie. Instead, users sign up for a Household Account, in which six members of your family can access UltraViolet content, whether they're physically in your home, on the road, or living as a student in another city. In total, UltraViolet content can also be registered to a PC as well as 11 other "devices"—namely, game consoles, PCs, smartphones, tablets, plus media player software or other apps.
Earlier this week, Rovi and others announced Digital Copy, (the "disc to digital" technology that Samsung announced) a version of UltraViolet that allows consumers to register, or authenticate, their own DVDs with the digital locker that UltraViolet provides.
