Mr. David Sandberg founded Red Oak Partners in 2003 after co-managing private equity firm JH Whitney’s $500 million Green River hedge fund. Since inception, Red Oak has achieved a long compound annual return in excess of 30% and has invested nearly $1 billion across its principal’s 17 year investment career. Mr. Sandberg has taken an active role at the board level in leading growth within Red Oak’s investments, and presently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Asure Software (Nasdaq: ASUR) and as a Director of SMTC Corp. (Nasdaq: SMTX), Planar Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: PLNR), and Issuer Direct Corp. (Nasdaq: ISDR), all of which are public companies. Mr. Sandberg also serves as Chairman of the Board of Kensington Vanguard Group, LLC, the largest national real estate services company in the north east, and recently served as a Director at public companies RF Industries, Ltd. and EDCI, Inc. The average return amongst these investments has been in excess of 100%, and Red Oak is the largest or one of the largest owners of each of these companies. Mr. Sandberg graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in Industrial Management and a BA in Economics.
