They are unable to cover without driving the price much much higher.
Naked shorts have sold non existent shares they are not shorting against borrowed shares. There may be a handful of small shorts using interactive brokers and the like shorting against actual shares but they are the exception. That is why they will not cover unless forced to by either the company or regulators. Let the company continue to prove itself and have significant revenue and earnings growth and the shorts will start to cover. They will try and do it slowly and it will be a laddered cover with them shaking out as many shares as they can while climbing the ladder. (Be prepared for sudden and violent drops) NTEK will be able to hasten that cover by producing significant quarter over quarter growth. If you can't stomach that kind of attack you are better off not watching. They will also utilize the message boards to instill fear and doubt much as is being done today only utilizing more sophisticated posters some of whom may well claim to be longs. They may be criminals but they are very good at stealing investors savings although I can't understand how they can do what they do and sleep at night. Going to be interesting watching this all unfold. Go NTEK!!!
