Company Adds Award-Winning Beer From Thailand to Its Product Portfolio
LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire – May 6, 2009) – Marani Brands, Inc. (OTCBB: MRIB) announced today that it has agreed to enter into an exclusive import and distribution agreement with Tropical Beverage Company (http://www.tropbevco.com) to import TROPBEVCO’s unique Thailand lager, Phuket Beer (http://www.phuketbeerusa.com) into the United States.
A premium boutique beer, Phuket Beer was founded on the tropical island of Phuket in the southern region of Thailand. The lager has gained a distinct image as a lifestyle-brand product representing the carefree and laid back nature of living on an exotic tropical island. Made with a unique blend of premium ingredients, Phuket Beer is an all-natural beer with no additives or preservatives and produced in small batches to ensure the highest quality, freshness, and consistency. It is available in 330 ml cans or bottles.
Though locally inspired, Phuket Beer has gained international recognition, and is currently sold throughout the world in such countries as Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico, USA, South Africa, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, UK, and Australia. Within the United States, Phuket Beer can be found in both on-premise and off-premise locations within Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Virginia. It is expected that the distribution of Phuket Beer will expand to more than 20 states by early 2010.
Phuket Beer has received many awards and accolades for its unique taste. In 2006 it became the first beer from Thailand to ever win a gold medal at the Monde Selection Awards. The beer went on to win gold again in 2007 and 2008, earning the honor of High Quality Award for its three consecutive medals. Monde Selection is an Independent International Institute founded in 1961 in Brussels, making it the world’s oldest and most representative organization in the field of Quality Selections. Each year approximately 1,500 products are presented to the Institute from over 70 countries in order to determine quality standards.
“Marani’s growth strategy has been to consistently find unique brands that are synergistic and can easily fit within our distribution network, while also offering the greatest opportunity to expand that network in a way that benefits our product portfolio as a whole,” said Marani CEO, Ara Zartarian. “Phuket Beer, like Marani Vodka, is a multiple gold medal award-winning lifestyle-branded product. The premium and ultra-premium segments are the fastest growing segments of the beer, wine and spirits industry. Marani is executing on its objective to satisfy this growing demand with unique, high-quality products.”
