Microcap frauds like PTOI always leave some of its victims suffering a type of Post Traumatic Scam Disorder. They're left incapable of reacting in any way other than to sit in a corner and chuckle about how they helped make Bordynuik a multimillionaire while they lost everything.
Their family members who are also affected financially don't find their chuckling to be exactly endearing, and so marriages fall apart (if they haven't already), children end up hating their parents, and all the rest.
