Ground school takes about 2 weeks. Eight hours a day, 5 days a week. Then they are scheduled in the SIM for about a month. They are not in the SIMs that whole time, but they are at the training center for that long. Then they begin OE (operating experience) which is supposed to be flying in the presence of a check airman for about a hundred hours. And that is supposed to be completed in 120 days. Then they get a line check and somewhere in there, they get an FAA observation,
Not sure how all this takes place in a startup airline. Initial cadre should also become the check airmen. But they will be flying the proving runs at that time, trying to work through all these requirements.
