UK IT Recruitment Market Report 2014
M2 - Wed Sep 24, 11:13AM CDT
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/l2mb5g/it_recruitment) has announced the addition of the "IT Recruitment Market Report Plus 2014" report to their offering. This Market Report estimates that the UK IT recruitment market grew at annual rate of 7.4% in 2013, continuing from the recent upsurge in demand from across the private sector. With sustained economic growth in recent years and promising growth in UK employment, the entire recruitment industry has exhibited strong turnover growth, to the extent that it is now approaching its pre-recession peak. In the IT sector, growth is outpacing the wider recruitment market, driven by the buoyancy of the vast majority of IT sectors across the products, software and services markets. With sustained economic recovery, demand for IT solutions has achieved further growth, as companies across the UK look to embark on IT project development and implementation programs that had previously been delayed or deferred during the recent period of economic depression. At present, the main driver of growth within IT recruitment is the permanent segment. Due to volume growth in the number of agency permanent positions placements, driven by greater business confidence and rising corporate investment expenditure, permanent staffing in the IT sector is currently experiencing significant annual value growth. The contract and temporary IT sector, nevertheless, remains by far the most significant sector of the market, accounting for an estimated 93% of industry invoiced income. One issue that does, however, represent a potential barrier to continued future growth in the market are the fears surrounding an IT skills shortage. Although such issues are difficult to quantify, numerous businesses have indicated the challenges they have faced sourcing candidates with the required skill sets, in recent years. The UK Government has recognised this as a problem or at least as a potential future problem and has announced various investments and other initiatives, in recent years, aimed at improving investment and participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematical (STEM) industries. Despite these fears, future growth in IT recruitment is expected to be significant, particularly over the next 2 or 3 years, as corporate IT budgets continue their recovery from the depression exhibited in the recessionary period, and immediately after. Strong demand from fast-growing sectors within the IT industry such as big data, cyber security, enterprise software and mobile should generate significant longer-term demand, although annual growth rates are expected to cool to a more stable rate by 2017. UK Recruitment Agencies (Permanent) Market Update 2014
M2 - Mon Jul 14, 9:47AM CDT
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/5rhmwx/recruitment) has announced the addition of the "Recruitment Agencies (Permanent) Market Update 2014" report to their offering. This Market Update revisits the permanent recruitment market in the UK, including recruitment agencies engaged in the fulfillment of permanent vacancies and executive search. Since the 2008/2009 recession, the permanent recruitment market has continued to fluctuate, with declines observed during 2009/2010 and 2011/2012, despite the market value rising by 37% in 2010/2011. More recently, the market has remained flat, although turnover still stands well below the pre-recession level of ?4.28bn registered in 2007/2008. Over the next 5 years, the UK economy is expected to strengthen and, along with it, the permanent recruitment market, which this report estimates will observe growth of 16.3% overall between 2014 and 2018. Much of this growth, however, is likely to be driven by the private sector, which will benefit from renewed business and consumer confidence in light of the strengthening economy. In contrast, however, public-sector recruitment will remain relatively flat, with public spending cuts likely to result in redundancies, while flat salary growth within the civil service and local government is expected to hinder staff retention across public-sector departments and local councils.
