MCP(.53)~ Electrical and hybrid cars, cell phones, wind turbines, Fighter jets, Computers, laptops, Cameras, Gadgets, The guidance systems on weapons system and tomahawk cruise missile, any of the smart bombs, oil-gasoline industries, fiber-optic cables, LED Florence ligths, green products, glass industry. MRI, X-RAYS....... USE RARE EARTH ELEMENTS..

1) Every hybrid-electric and electric vehicle has a large battery. Each battery is made using several pounds of rare earth compounds. The use of electric vehicles is expected to increase rapidly, driven by energy independence, climate change and other concerns. This will increase the demand for rare earth materials.
FOR EXAMPLE EACH TOYOTO PRIUS USES 25 POUNDS RARE EARTHS.

2) Cell phones and most micro devices : Rare earth metals are used in most small electronic devices. These devices have a short lifespan, and REE recycling is infrequently done. Billions are thrown away each year. Image © Bakaleev Aleksey, iStockphoto.

3) Large wind turbines require two TONS of rare earth magnets .
Rare earth magnets are used in wind turbines. Some large turbines require two TONS of rare earth magnets. These magnets are very strong and make the turbines highly efficient. Rare earth magnets are used in turbines and generators in many alternative energy applications.

4) The new F-35 fighter jet contains nearly half a ton of rare earths.

5) MRI, X-Rays Machines : Some of them are phosphorescent. Erbium amplifies light, and is used in fiber-optic cables. Gadolinium has magnetic properties and is used in MRI machines and X-rays. As for neodymium? You may be carrying some of it in your pocket.

6) The guidance systems on weapons system and tomahawk cruise missile, any of the smart bombs have rare earths in them.

7) Erbium amplifies light, and is used in fiber-optic cables

8)Electric Motors:
Hybrids, in particular use a lot more because they contain electric motors that would not function without rare earths.
A Prius has roughly 25 pounds of rare earths.

9) Computers, laptops, Cameras, gadgets: And they're hidden in plain sight in our every day lives, in our computers and gadgets, even the lights and cameras we used to film this story are chock full of rare earths.
