Definitely no clinical trials. That I can assure you. They are geared toward the nutraceutical side of the business only. You can confirm that with Mr. James. The nutraceutical side is where you want to be in today's market. It is the whole reason, P&G sold their pharmaceutical division while I was there. It just got too costly to fund trials that have a poor chance of making it all the way through the FDA approval process. The FDA has caused many other companies to take the same approach. They now want long term studies in addition to many other things, that has caused the risk to be too great now. Most companies are better off tweaking their current brands to get an additional indication than trying to get a whole new drug through the FDA approval process. Thus there will be far fewer new drugs being created here in the US, but rather overseas in Europe where it is far less expensive and much easier to get approval. P&G only concentrates on the over-the-counter drugs and nutraceuticals now. Cheers!
