An avid RIBT science investor speaks out about RIB
Post# of 640
Bigbasslur is a long term poster at RIBT Yahoo and I have been communicating with him for his 10 years here at RIBT. He finds new science in patents, studies and articles often before RIBT management finds it. He also tracks exports from Irgovel to the US and other countries. He usually has little to say. Miskito_Man asked him the following>>>
"Big Bass - You are one of the most respected voices on this board in my humble opinion. You know quite a bit about the company and you don't get bent out of shape either way. I just wanted to ask what your thoughts are about the company and its potential over the next couple of years. Obviously you are monitoring this board and therefore you're still interested in the company but if you could share your "gut feel" about what you think is ahead that would be great".

1. "Well thanks MM. As far as the company goes I do monitor them and the products they make but not so much from a investing way. I kinda follow the science end of it. And I always watch the companies involved in rice and rice production globally. When I first bought this stock probably 10 years ago I figured I would learn a little bit about what they do and I was fascinated by the whole chain of things involved from farm to consumer. Its Kinda of like a hobby for me. I dont really get bent out of shape because I only own 1500 shares that I have accumulated over the years. And when BE sent us to BK I figured all was lost, but in an amazing turn of events they kept the shareholders intact. So no matter how bad it gets, I could have been wiped out, but wasnt. Plus there are enough people here that get bent out of shape, lol. How I feel about the company next post"
2."MM I really tried to write how I feel about the company but kept deleting what I wrote because it really doesnt matter what I think. Rice bran is not a waste product, never has been, never will be, despite what you might read in the literature. Its used to feed people, fish, animals and birds, so the markets are there. Ribt is in the right position to take advantage of these current market trends. I feel JS did a pretty good job at getting us where we are now. Do I wish he was more open, did stuff quicker, met his own goals etc. you betcha. But all in all I think he did what he could with what he had been handed.
For the future I think Irgovel becomes very important. The new protein products coming from defatted rb should provide nice margins and we have lots of it because thats whats left over when you get the oil out. Then there are tocotrienols that are unique to rb and palm oil which is good for ribt and Wilmar should they choose to exploit it. And the Wilmar/Wona deal while I didn't like it at first, I think in hindsight it was a good deal. They could have just copied our tech if they wanted and I dont think anyone would have been the wiser. Plus we get access to their tech too, and if they expand using our tech we have an instant way into the Chinese market, provided we can get the capital.
Also there will be treatments for cancer made from and or modeled after rb proteins in the near future. Certain peptide sequences have shown up to 80% inhibition of liver cancer cells. There has been research like this going on for the last ten years that I've been reading about it but it is much more frequent in the literature the last 5 years.
So all in all the future could be bright, but it really depends on management. It always does. Just my 2 cents".
