Dinner with Baltia last night...
So I had wonderful dinner with one of Baltia's founding VPs last night and thought I'd offer my two cents as follow up to my post 12832.
First let me say, I'm 100% confident that there is NOTHING that will stop Baltia from getting passed these last two hurdles. Not the process, the cost, the regulators (whom are huge Baltia fans), and most certainly not some meaningless negativity on message boards. NOTHING will stop them.
I say this for a few reasons but most importantly because they will not stop the evac exercise until it is complete... one way or another it will be accomplished... and I believe we are mere weeks away. I know it's been said before but it is so enlightening to deal in days and weeks now than it was months and years prior.
What's even more encouraging is that we actually spent a good amount of time discussing what can be expected during typical proving flights... 50 to 100 hours of domestic and international flights with faa on board simulating emergency and other circumstances. With Baltia's flight crew and experience, it will most certainly be a walk in the park and I look forward to tracking their every move on FlightAware.
If you haven't registered for notifications of N706BL and are interested in tracking it, I'd recommend creating a FlightAware account. It's FREE and it literally takes 5 minutes or less. I'm not sure if anyone's posted instructions here but it's very simple.
Once you join FlightAware:
Click on 'My Alerts' at the top of the home page.
On the right hand side, click the link 'Set Up A New Alert'.
In #1, click the toggle next to 'Tail' and enter N706BL.
In #2 select 'Indefinite'.
In #3, make sure your proper email address is checked and change the scroll bar on the right from 'On the Flight' to 'Advanced'.
Check the box next to each option to receive notifications for 'Scheduled', 'Departed', 'Arrived', 'Cancelled', and 'Diverted'.
Lastly, click 'SETUP ALERT' at the bottom right of the page.
You will instantly get an email from FlightAware letting you know that you have successfully registered for the alert.
There has been some discrepancy in the past with an error in tail number entry of another aircraft but this will correct itself once the first proving flight is scheduled for N706BL.
