Director To Sell at the Cannes Film Festival
HOLLYWOOD, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 25, 2015 / Mass Hysteria Entertainment Company, Inc. (MHYS) has acquired the thriller script, Dream Car, from writer/director Victor Salva with plans to begin European sales on the film in May at The Cannes Film Festival. Salva is the writer/director behind the Jeepers Creepers franchise for United Artists that has grossed more than $122,000,000 worldwide.
Dream Car is the terrifying story of a man in his twenties who takes possession of his dream car, a Plymouth Barracuda, with a horrible past. The car has had 17 owners of which half of them are missing and the others are dead. "This script made my heart pound," said Daniel Grodnik, CEO of Mass Hysteria. "As an independent producer, one of the hardest things is to find is a script that rocks your world and Dream Car had me on the edge of my seat all the way through."
Dream Car, like the recently acquired End Of The Gun, and Timothy Hill Ranch, represents another step toward putting together a slate of motion pictures for Mass Hysteria. "Dan and I have been trying to work together since we made the film, Powder," said Victor Salva. "I think Dream Car is another unique idea and a terrific thriller and to collaborate again with Dan makes it even more exciting."
Mary Aloe, who co-financed Battle In Seattle, starring Charlize Theron and Channing Tatum, also produces. The Company is in negotiations with international sales agents Brian O'Shea and Jeff Bowler from The Exchange to represent the film overseas.
