Buying and Selling for Longs Having learned my
Post# of 41413
Having learned my lesson on another stock a few of us on this board owned during the 2000 tech bubble (and still own), I won't hold my entire bundle for long term with the philosophy "it will keep going up". IMO that was just stupid (hindsight=20/20).
Instead when the stock starts to rise a bit during or after proving flights, I plan to sell a small amount to recover my initial investment, then see where the stock goes, and sell small bits here and there if we see a big rise. I'll always hold on to quite a percentage of my shares if we see pps rise after rise.
Also, I like to sell with small amounts vs large so it doesn't seem to be a panic...For example, to recover my investment I'll probably sell 30K + 30K for example rather than one 60K lot.
