There are a lot of factors that require changes to engines and swapping them out on the planes. My firm did a lot of air craft engine leasing via a big Australian bank. The EPA weighs in on this. Noise was one big issue so years ago certain engines had to be swapped out for quieter ones, hence the value of leasing
