Regarding announcing the name of the wreck: If I had a wreck site that I thought was a Spanish wreck, I would keep that information to myself until I knew for sure it was a Spanish wreck. Especially if I didn't have tons of money laying around to fight a lawsuit from Spain when they try to go after the wreck when I announced it. I think a better plan would be to lay low until some treasure is found which generates some income and the treasure items would then confirm the name of the ship because you sure don't want to announce something like that and be wrong. Those found treasure items could then finance a winning defense against Spain. They won't win their case, as evidenced by past cases when wrecks were found within 3 miles of the U.S. shore, but they will try. I'm just guessing that this may be the situation here. So I'm good with no announcement on the name of the ship till it is confirmed.
