It seems the Windsor Star didn't like my response to their article yesterday cause it got deleted LieHub style.
"The facility was constructed before Health Canada approved the company for a licence..." Of course the facility was built before. Without a facility there's nothing to inspect hence no license. Also HC did approve the land and zoning that's CEN was given a Ready To Build.
"sold 71 million shares last year, resulting in a personal gain of more than $4.6 million" You later state Mr. Chaban invested $5 million of his own money. Even if you don't believe that he did, why build a $14 million facility and spend more to accelerate the build ? Why not just pocket that money? Why buy another million dollar parcel in the area? Pocket that money too. Why buy a Hemp company? Why make all these moves in Las Vegas, land , apply for license ect ? By the way where do you think this money is coming from? You talk about $4.6 million and so far between the state of the art facility (which no LP can compare to) the second Lakeshore property, Hemp company, Las Vegas , we're talking about five to ten times $4.6 million. Where's the money coming from if not from Mr. Chabaan. Also yes accelerating the build out was HC's idea. Read the timeline that was filed in the court papers--"Letter to Todd Cain Re: Accelerating build out-Built out per request. Letter from HC acknowledging call with Todd Cain"
"It is in the public interest to clarify Health Canada’s actions on this matter.” In whose interest was it to illegally release information about an applicant to the Globe?
"CEN Biotech is alleging in its court documents that Health Canada found only two minor deficiencies, which the company corrected" The Inspection Report was made public back in Aug/Sept. Look it up.
"the property doesn’t have the water, hydro and sewage services that will be needed to support a facility which was touted to annually produce 600,000 kilograms of medical marijuana" The open house done specifically to answer the town's concerns addressed the issue of water. They have a water recycling system that will contain 95% of the water used. Look for the Open house done for the neighbors of Lakeshore it goes more in depth regarding the town's so-called issues.
"Lakeshore council in November also passed a bylaw requiring medical marijuana facilities be located on land zoned for industrial" So after they are welcomed in with open arms and after they have spent $14 million+ on the project Lakeshore changes the law on them. How would you like it if after you spent all your money on a house the town changes zoning on you from residential to industrial. Very underhanded if not illegal to try to apply a brand new law to existing buildings/projects.
"That process of at least six months would involve community feedback and meetings that allow the public to learn about and discuss the plans" Six months ? How long did it take to get this brand new bylaw pushed through ? One month or two ?
"Health Canada issued a statement Friday..." HC practically cut off all communication with the company after inspection in July/Aug. Now after the company demanded the license they felt the deserved on January 29, 2015 HC leaks the Intent to Refuse letter and release another frivolous statement days later. Where was this communication in the previous 7 months.
“Everything they have done so far – even though it might be visually unappealing " Is there any reason to interject that last part in there. Does that sound like someone that is supposed to be an unbiased town official ? Are you starting to see the witch hunt here ?
For an area that has the worst unemployment in Canada and probably all of North America this town doesn't seem to care too much about bringing in jobs for its people. For a town with such high unemployment who is also raising taxes they don't seem to care about a business that would bring in a lot tax revenue if allowed to grow into a billion dollar company as planned. Very interesting to see that apparently/obviously Lakeshore officials' top priority is not the people of Lakeshore. As far as HC and other Canadian government officials they have a lot of explaining to do regarding their relationships with the Globe(leaked Intent to Refuse Letter) and other LPs.
