I agree that the people at HC probably don't read

I agree that the people at HC probably don't read the stories published by longs. However, there are many investors who are nervous about their investment and getting the story from another investor often puts them at ease and prevents them from selling out of fear.

I see these articles more as a counter balance to the bashing and a way to tell the basher's that they really are idiots and make up most of what they post.
