Risk parameters for all Commodity Derivatives Contracts will be updated based on a monthly review.
The updated parameters will have impact on the calculation of the daily margin requirement for which collateral must be posted by 10:30 CET on Monday, February 23, 2015.
Inter-Commodity Spread Credit will now be applied between EPAD contracts within Nordic and German power markets and between EPAD contracts and the corresponding power contract. This will reduce the margin requirement if one holds EPAD contracts in opposite directions and an EPAD contract and a Nordic/German power contract in the same direction. Margin curves for Dry Freight, Tanker Clean, Tanker Dirty, Iron Ore, Coal and Seafood will see a minimum level (margin floor) of 6%, affecting primarily contracts from CAL16 and beyond. In addition, certain margin curves for Tanker Clean will see increases based on increased volatility, leading to increased margin requirements for these contracts.
Margin curves for Fuel Oil are increased based on prevailing market conditions, resulting in higher margin requirements for these contracts. Other margin curves have minor changes and thus only minor impacts on margin requirements.
