Sierra Bancorp Reports Earnings
PR Newswire - Tue Jan 20, 6:55AM CST
Sierra Bancorp (Nasdaq: BSRR), parent of Bank of the Sierra, today announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and the year ended December 31, 2014. Sierra Bancorp recognized net income of $15.240 million for the year in 2014, an improvement of $1.871 million, or 14%, relative to net income in 2013. The increase over the prior year is the result of higher net interest income, gains on the sale of OREO, non-recurring investment gains and a reduced loan loss provision. These favorable variances were partially offset by non-recurring costs stemming from our acquisition of Santa Clara Valley Bank, lower deposit service charge income, higher costs resulting from our core software conversion in early 2014, higher salaries and benefits expense, and a higher tax accrual rate. The Company's return on average assets was 1.03% in 2014, up from 0.96% in 2013. The Company's return on average equity also increased to 8.18% in 2014 from 7.56% in 2013, and diluted earnings per share increased to $1.08 in 2014 from $0.94 in 2013. For the fourth quarter of 2014 Sierra Bancorp had net income of $3.653 million, an annualized return on average equity of 7.73%, and a return on average assets of 0.93%.

Sierra Bancorp Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend
PR Newswire - Fri Jan 16, 6:59AM CST
Sierra Bancorp (Nasdaq:BSRR), parent of Bank of the Sierra, today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per share, an increase of 11% relative to the dividend paid the previous quarter. The dividend was approved subsequent to the Board's review of the Company's financial results for the quarter and the year ended December 31, 2014, which reflect capital strength, relatively robust net income, strong loan and deposit growth due in part to the Company's recent acquisition of Santa Clara Valley Bank, and a continued favorable trend in credit quality and nonperforming assets. The dividend will be paid on February 12, 2015 to shareholders of record as of January 29, 2015. Including dividends paid by Bank of the Sierra prior to the formation of Sierra Bancorp, the Company has paid regular cash dividends to shareholders every year since 1987, comprised of annual dividends from 1987 through 1998 and quarterly dividends since then. The dividend noted in today's announcement marks the Company's 64th consecutive regular quarterly cash dividend.
