A Health Canada spokesman told The Star it would not comment on the details of CEN Biotech’s licence application which remains under review.
“The proper authorities to deal with illegal financial activities are the police and the relevant security commission,” said Sean Upton, senior media relations officer for Health Canada. “If Health Canada had knowledge of illegal activity surrounding the (marijuana for medical purpose regulations), it could be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
“As a matter of course we work closely with the RCMP during the licensing process under the MMPR to ensure public safety. If the Globe and Mail has evidence of criminal activity we encourage them to contact the authorities.”
The RCMP detachment in Windsor said it was not involved in any investigations of allegations regarding CEN Biotech.
“I have canvassed my peers in our Ontario Headquarters and found the same result,” said Sgt. Peter Koersvelt of the local RCMP.
I do not know what they would call then in Canada but I'm shure they have some form of FBI . And why would tell the Globe and not the Star?
