As you say follow the money. I believe in medical marijuana. I also think that the major pharmaceutical companies are not as big a problem as one might think. I believe they are doing and have been doing extensive research on how profit from this new understanding of cannabis. Pharmaceuticals however enjoy a text exempt status and are of little interest to the government as far as tax revenue is concerned. Recreational marijuana however is rich in tax resources, governments are interested. I believe the major impediments to hemp /marijuana production are the same today as they were in 1937. Go to amazon.com, type in the search bar the word "hemp". You will find well over 36,000 products now for sale on Amazon that are made from hemp. None of this hemp was grown in this country. The question is why. There's a lot of flash in marijuana, there's a lot of cash in hemp. There are a lot of industries today that would be threatened by the production of hemp. What is one acre of hemp worth ? Follow the link.

We live in a capitalistic society and I believe in capitalism, at some point the investing public will find the money. Change takes time.
