Thanks. And you're exactly right, it's not economical. With HDPE, LDPE and PP plastics as allowed by PTOI's permit, it's impossible to be commercially viable and with recyclers also wanting those same plastics to re-use, pyrolysis wouldn't even earth-friendly.
Pyrolysis really does work. Anyone who has choked off the air to a wood stove can see the wood literally continue to evaporate and the flammable pyrolysis gasses (smoke) go up the chimney, unburnt. They might even have seen some of the more viscous oils condense on the relatively cold surfaces on the inside of the chimney.
However economics--there's the rub.
