For the fourth quarter 2014, AKAM posted revenue of $536 million, a 23% increase year over year, and non-GAAP net income of $127 million, or $0.70 per diluted share (excluding non-recurring items), compared to non-GAAP net income of $100 million, or $0.55 per diluted share in the same period the prior year, these results better than the Capital IQ Consensus Estimate of $0.63 earnings per share on revenues of $526.83 million for the period.
For the full year 2014, AKAM's revenue surged 24% to $1.96 billion, and its non-GAAP net income increased 22% to $449 million, or $2.48 per diluted share, both compared to full year 2013.

Shares of First Solar Inc. (FSLR) surged in after-hours trading on Tuesday following the announcement of the first wholesale commercial and industrial power purchase (PPA) agreement executed by the company.
FSLR said that Apple Inc. (AAPL) has committed $848 million for clean energy from its California Flats Solar Project in Monterey County, Calif., which construction is expected to begin in mid-2015, and to be completed by the end of 2016.
The deal marks the largest agreement in the industry to provide clean energy to a commercial end user.
According to FSLR, Apple will get 130 megawatts (MW)AC of the solar project under a 25-year PPA, the remaining 150 MW of the project will be sold to California utility Pacific Gas & Electric under a separate long-term PPA, and the project is fully subscribed between the Apple and PG&E PPAs.
