The mini-evac requires 50 government employees to all be available at the same time.....and anyone coming from out of town will need 3 days free (fly in on the 1st day, mini-evac on the second day, fly out on the 3rd day).
The problem is....as was anticipated and was told to Baltia in advance....that right now many of the agents are on a Federally mandated training period.
That training period will end just about the middle of February, so I am thinking the week of the 16th is a very good possibility, with the following Tuesday (2/24) being like a guaranteed day (IMO) if nothing pans out for the 16th to the 20th.
I myself go on vacation from the 12th to the 22nd (Turks & Caicos)....as the kids are off from school.....so I further believe the week of the 16th to the 20th might be a stretch (I'm guessing that more than a few of the 50 FAA needed to be there for the mini also have kids and also have scheduled vacations during that week).
Bottom line.....IMHO......I'm thinking Tuesday, 2/24....and by then (which is another 3 long weeks from now) mother nature should be a lot more cooperative as well.
I am still a strong believer in "Hold & Accumulate".
.....and rest assured that even during this "down-time", while Baltia waits for the FAA to be fully back in swing, there are certain maintenance items on N706BL that were to be due in a month or so that are being moved up and taken care of now.....so as not to be an issue during the Proving Flights (which will proceed straight through without interruption when the time comes).
